January 24 – Off to Walt Disney World

We left first thing this morning for breakfast at the nearby Waffle House and then were off for our drive to Orlando and Disney World.  We dropped the car off at the Orlando airport and found our way to the shuttle bus that took us to The World.  We arrived at Disney and our resort, The Caribbean Beach Resort, around noon.  Our room wasn’t ready, so we headed off for lunch at the small restaurant near the lobby.  The menu was somewhat limited, and the food was only ok.  But it was food.  Shortly after, our room was ready, so we claimed our luggage and were given a ride over to the Trinidad Complex where we are staying.

Towel art on beds isn't uncommon and Disney didn't disappoint.

We only have half a day left so opted to not hit any of the Kingdoms.  Instead, we caught a bus to Disney Springs.  This is primarily a shopping center.

Key Lime Pie...Of Course

There was a small theater where we rested a bit.  There were some spirit/cheerleader group performing.  This group was from Texas.

We were able to get tickets to see the Cirque de Soleil and Disney collaboration, Drawn to Life.  It was the usual spectacular Cirque show built around the theme of Animation. No photos allowed during the show.  These were from the pre-show entertainment.

We had purchased the dining pass which gave us breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack each day.  Because the park is so crowded it was important to make reservations…so a good amount of time today was devoted to booking dining reservations for all of the parks we were visiting.  So after the Cirque show we went to our booked restaurant, Rainforest Café.  We ate here several years ago when all of us, including Mom, spent a week in Walt Disney World.
